A home is where dignity begins
There is no stability without shelter. Ma'wa ensures that families on the edge of losing their homes — or living in conditions no family should accept — have somewhere to turn. Housing precarity in Saudi Arabia takes many forms: widows whose late husbands were the primary earners, families hit by sudden unemployment, people with disabilities living in inaccessible homes, and vulnerable expatriate families facing eviction. Ma'wa responds to all of them. Four pillars of support: Emergency rent assistance — covering one to six months of rent for families facing immediate eviction, giving them time to stabilize income Home repairs and modifications — fixing leaking roofs, failing plumbing, dangerous wiring, and adapting homes for people with disabilities (ramps, handrails, accessible bathrooms) Full home furnishing — for families moving into empty units, we provide beds, appliances, kitchenware, and everything needed to turn four walls into a home Rehousing support — for families in unsafe or unhealthy dwellings, we help cover deposits and first-month rent on better housing Every case starts with a home visit by one of our social workers, who documents the family's situation and recommends the appropriate level of support. Ma'wa prioritizes widows, orphans, people with disabilities, and families with young children — but we assess every application on its merits. In the past year alone, Ma'wa has helped more than 600 families across the Kingdom. Some received a one-time repair that prevented disaster. Others entered our longer-term rehousing program and are now settled and stable. A safe home is the precondition for everything else — for children to study, for parents to work, for families to dream beyond the next bill.
